GRAB YOUR OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Hello folks,
Welcome to my blogspot - Blog4ITJObs.
This is Prashant Singh working with Sapient Corporation India Hiring.
The idea behind creating this blogspot is to help get an opportunity, the latest recruiting trends and some hints and tip that might be useful for all of you to get the right opportunity.

We often get to hear how someone got lucky to get a job or was lucky to be promoted, etc… While some people think they just got lucky in life and that’s that, I honestly think you tend to create your own luck in both your work and personal life.To reach our goals, the secret to success is within us, what do I mean by this?
I think that this means - using the Laws of Nature you create your own reality - Good or Bad. Good thoughts and actions create good outcomes and vice versa. The Positive energy created from within us influences each one of us to move towards success. It’s the feeling that we create in our day-to-day life, at work, at home or anywhere else.People create their own luck by doing the things that puts them in a position to succeed. For example – by having a LinkedIn account, messaging on Twitter, submit their resumes in recruitment portals, being involved in the IT Community, etc… it is more likely you will get noticed and called up “out of the blue” by a Recruiter. While some people think getting a call like this is lucky, it is not luck at all but really the work that someone does to make themselves get noticed and be found by Recruiters. In short, you can create you own luck by getting things done at the right place and at the right time.At our Recruitment meeting in India I heard other success stories, thoughts and the passion for recruitment from members of our Hiring Team. So many of our colleagues here have shared their passion for recruitment and have the zeal to innovate – I think we are creating our own luck through our great teamwork and dedication.

Here is my hints and tips for the day:-
Your Resume or CV is one of the most important documents that you may write in your career. Mistakes in your CV could therefore cost you the opportunity of a lifetime. Here are some common errors to be avoided while writing your CV:
1) Spelling Mistakes: Spelling mistakes can leave a poor impression. So have your CV read by someone to remove such errors before you go ahead and apply for a job.
2) Factual mistakes: Incorrect tenure in an organization, incorrect education details, chronology of experience, can all lead to misunderstandings.
3) Long flowing sentences: This distracts the scanning eyes of a Recruiter due to the limited time they allocate to reading CVs. My suggestion to all, make some key bullet points in your resume that would summarise your experience, skills and achievements.
4) Formatting: The size and type of font chosen can have an impact on the readability. Please do not highlight unnecessary points with colorful fonts, keep it simple and to the point.
5) Incorrect contact information: This being the second most critical data after your experience and skills must be correctly presented. You should mention both your present and permanent addresses with direct contact numbers such as your mobile and landline number. If these details are not listed you might miss an opportunity by a missed call.
6) Lack of objective/focus: Unclear objectives can leave a Recruiter guessing which field or type of job you are interested in. A great objective statement clearly defines your career goal aligned with the job you are targeting for.
7) Length: The CV should be descriptive enough to explain what your key skills are, yet short enough to retain interest of the Recruiter.
To add this, you should also know that a Cover Letter adds a few stars to a great CV. It highlights your interest and summarizes your objective for applying for a particular profile. So, once you have worked on your CV, get working on your Cover Letter. This can greatly increase your chance of getting an interview call, which will be your key to securing an opportunity.
